IGCSE Results Day 2026 in Saudi Arabia: What Happens on 18 August
Cambridge releases IGCSE and O Level results on 18 August 2026 at 05:00 GMT — 8:00 in the morning in Saudi Arabia. AS and A Level results were released a week earlier, on 11 August, at the same hour.
There is something specific about being a Saudi candidate this year, and it is worth stating plainly before anything else: you sat real exams. Across the Gulf, June 2026 exams were cancelled in the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Lebanon, and students there were graded through a portfolio of evidence instead. Exams ran normally in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Oman. Your grade came from papers you wrote, which means every route open to a normal results day — marks, boundaries, remarks, retakes — is open to you.
- Results: 18 August 2026, 05:00 GMT — 8:00 AM Saudi time. AS and A Level came on 11 August.
- Saudi exams ran normally. The portfolio-of-evidence route applied to the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Lebanon, not here.
- Your statement shows grades, not marks. Ask your centre how many marks you were from the next boundary before deciding anything.
- A remark can lower your grade. It is a genuine re-mark, not an appeal.
- Retaking? Cambridge’s retake window closes 21 September 2026, Edexcel 12 September — and British Council Saudi Arabia’s own deadline is earlier than both.
- Equivalency and Qudurat/Tahsili are separate problems from your grade, and they run on their own calendars.
What lands on 18 August
You receive a statement of results — a provisional list of every syllabus you entered and the grade awarded. It is not the certificate; certificates are printed later and reach your centre months afterwards. Universities and employers accept the statement in the meantime, and it is the document you will use for equivalency.
What it will not show you is your mark. It says B, not “B by one mark”. That gap matters, because almost every sensible decision from here depends on the number your statement omits.

Equivalency: a separate problem, on a separate clock
A common and expensive assumption is that a good IGCSE result is the end of the admissions problem in Saudi Arabia. It is not. Getting a British-curriculum qualification recognised for Saudi university entry runs through the Ministry of Education as its own process, with its own document requirements and its own timing — and it does not begin until you have results in hand.

If you are retaking, the clock is shorter than the deadline suggests
Cambridge’s retake entry deadline for the November 2026 series is 21 September 2026. Pearson Edexcel International GCSE closes on 12 September. Both of those are board deadlines, and neither is yours.
British Council Saudi Arabia registers private candidates in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar through an online exams portal, and it sets its own cut-off ahead of the boards so it can process and submit entries in time.
