For everyone who sat the October/November 2026 series — most of you fixing a June grade — January is your results month. It's a quieter results day than August's, but the stakes are often higher: these are the grades that complete university equivalency files, unlock held sixth-form places, and close the loop on the retake decision made back in September. Here are the exact dates, and the plan for each outcome.

Reading a retake result properly
If November was your second attempt, you now hold two results for the same subject — and the rules are friendlier than most students assume:
- Your best result is the one that works for you. Each series stands on its own certificate; a weaker resit doesn't cancel a stronger June grade, and institutions overwhelmingly consider the better sitting.
- Improved? Update everyone who's waiting. Sixth form, university admissions, and — for the Jordanian route — your equivalency file with the Ministry. January results are typically in time for the annual admission cycles, but move promptly.
- Missed again, but closer? Same triage as August: get your marks distance from the boundary, consider a post-results enquiry (deadlines fall within weeks of January results — ask your exams officer immediately), or take the longer runway to June 2027.

If June 2027 is the move: this time the runway is months, not weeks — entries close around February–March 2027, and you have time to run the full method properly: a real timetable, spaced topic cycles, and 8–10 marked papers instead of a compressed sprint. Third sittings with proper preparation succeed constantly; certificates never count attempts.

FAQ
When do November 2026 IGCSE results come out?
Cambridge releases November 2026 series results on 7 January 2027 for AS & A Level and 14 January 2027 for IGCSE and O Level, through schools and exam centres. Edexcel's October/November results also land in January — your centre confirms the exact date.
If my resit grade is lower than my original, which one counts?
Both exist independently — the resit never erases the original, so your June grade stands. Schools and universities almost universally work from your stronger result; if a specific institution has an unusual multiple-sitting policy, its admissions office will say so.
Are January results in time for university applications?
Usually yes — mid-January results fit most annual admission cycles, including Jordan's equivalency-based intake. The key is speed after results day: update your equivalency file or conditional offer within days, not weeks, and confirm any institution-specific deadlines in advance.
Can I retake again in June 2027 if November didn't go well?
