IGCSE & A-Level Results Day January 2027: November Series Dates & Next Steps
For everyone who sat the October/November 2026 series — most of you fixing a June grade — January is your results month. It's a quieter results day than August's, but the stakes are often higher: these are the grades that complete university equivalency files, unlock held sixth-form places, and close the loop on the retake decision made back in September. Here are the exact dates, and the plan for each outcome.
- Cambridge AS & A Level (November 2026 series): results 7 January 2027.
- Cambridge IGCSE & O Level: results 14 January 2027. Edexcel November-series results also land in January — confirm the exact date with your centre.
- Results come through your school or British Council centre, same as August.
- Retakers: your June grade still stands — a weaker November result doesn't erase it.
- Next moves if needed: post-results enquiries within weeks, or the May/June 2027 series (entries close around February–March).
The dates
Reading a retake result properly
If November was your second attempt, you now hold two results for the same subject — and the rules are friendlier than most students assume:
- Your best result is the one that works for you. Each series stands on its own certificate; a weaker resit doesn't cancel a stronger June grade, and institutions overwhelmingly consider the better sitting.
- Improved? Update everyone who's waiting. Sixth form, university admissions, and — for the Jordanian route — your equivalency file with the Ministry. January results are typically in time for the annual admission cycles, but move promptly.
- Missed again, but closer? Same triage as August: get your marks distance from the boundary, consider a post-results enquiry (deadlines fall within weeks of January results — ask your exams officer immediately), or take the longer runway to June 2027.
The January checklist
- Confirm your release date and channel nowCambridge dates above; Edexcel via your centre. Private candidates: results come from the British Council, to the contact details you registered with — make sure they're current.
- On the day: read everything, then act on the planThe same decision tree as August applies — distance from boundary first, decisions second.
- Forward the result to whoever's waitingHeld places and equivalency files don't update themselves; a one-day delay in January can matter more than a week in August.
- Collect the November certificate when it arrivesDespatched in the months after results — same rules as ever: check it, scan it, guard it.
