Desktop Computers
What is a desktop computer?
A desktop computer is a computer designed to stay in one place, typically on a desk or workstation. It's the traditional "full-size" computer setup.
Key Components (Separate):
- Monitor — the screen
- CPU/Computer unit — the processing brain, usually in a tower
- Keyboard & Mouse — input devices
Why separate components? This modularity makes desktops easy to repair, upgrade, and replace individual parts without replacing the whole machine.
Key Properties of Desktop Computers:
• More powerful than mobile computers (better processors, more RAM)
• Upgradable — you can swap out the graphics card, hard drive, RAM, etc.
• Not portable — heavy, needs a power outlet constantly

What is a mobile computer?
A mobile computer is a computer designed to be portable and used on the move, such as a laptop, smartphone, or tablet.
Key Components (Built-in/Integrated):
- Monitor — built into the screen (no separate display)
- Computer unit — integrated into the chassis
- Keyboard & Trackpad / Touchscreen — all in one device
