Portfolio of Evidence Results 2026: What UAE, Kuwait, Qatar & Bahrain Students Do Next

In three weeks, tens of thousands of students across the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Lebanon will open results for exams they never sat. The May/June 2026 series was cancelled across these countries, grades were awarded through the externally-marked Portfolio of Evidence route — and now the strangest results season the Gulf has ever had needs answers to three questions nobody has faced before: what exactly am I getting, is it worth the same, and what do I do if the grade is wrong? This guide answers all three, with the dates, the deadlines, and the one entry-calendar trap that closes before results day.

The dates, board by board

School candidates get results through school (Cambridge school candidates can also use the candidate results portal with a school-issued login); private candidates who registered through the British Council receive theirs via the BC's channels. What a portfolio grade actually is — and isn't

Your school compiled a portfolio of your assessed work — mocks, class tests, coursework — against the exam board's evidence requirements, and the board marked it externally. That produces:

• A full grade on the standard scale — an A* from the portfolio route is an A*, full stop.
• The same certificate — boards confirmed certificates carry no marker distinguishing the portfolio route. A university or employer reading your certificate cannot tell, and has no reason to care.
• University acceptance — UK, US, regional and worldwide universities accept the grades; our portfolio explainer covers the recognition question in depth.

Happy with the grades? Your next stop is equivalency

For students finishing Year 11 the grades feed subject choices for AS; for students finishing Year 13 they feed university files — and in the Gulf that means the equivalency certificate. The formula is different in every country, and applying the wrong country's rule is the classic expensive mistake: UAE (5 subjects + 1 A-Level/2 AS), Qatar (5 + 2, with maths/science/language), Kuwait (8 subjects, 2 advanced, 36 months), Saudi (general controls + Qiyas).

The six-week fix

First November papers are 28 September — six weeks after results day. That's enough to genuinely fix one or two subjects, and nowhere near enough to casually fix five. The students who convert a portfolio disappointment into a November grade jump all run the same loop: diagnose with a real past paper, fix the weakest topic, retest. And this cohort has one specific advantage to press: having missed the June sitting, you've never burned through the recent papers in exam conditions — they're all fresh diagnostic material. For parents: reading a portfolio results morning

• The grade is real — treat it as real. Relitigating whether "it would've gone better in a real exam" helps nobody; the November series is where that theory gets tested, if it's worth testing.
• Move fast on logistics, slowly on judgement. The resit-entry conversation with school has a deadline; conclusions about your child's ability don't.
• One or two subjects, maximum. A targeted November campaign works; a blanket "resit everything" reliably produces five mediocre preparations.
